I was invited to be a vendor in a little rexburg Pop-up shop. It happened the first week in June. I signed up for the event not because I wanted to sell anything, but because I really just wanted to use it as a networking opportunity. I enjoy meeting other creative people and sharing what I do.
It was a smaller venue at a housing complex here in Rexburg. Our event used two rooms; so in the larger room there were probably about 12 vendors. I was in the smaller room with about 7 other vendors. It was a little crowded which made it hard to display everything we had. It was a good experience though because we all got to meet other creative people and take a few orders. I liked being able to see what other people were doing for their little businesses. Supporting small shops is so fun because people are so passionate about what they do. I ended up buying specialty decorated cookies, a tie for sheldon, and some bath bombs. I didn't know exactly how to set things up so I just brought what I thought would look fun. I bought a few bunches fo sunflowers that I used on the sides of my table- how could I not? I also ordered a shirt from TayRae Creations which worked out as a great way to wear my logo. Check her out on Etsy because she makes the cutest custom vinyl shirts. The main challenge for me was that I didn't know how to display my work because everything I do is custom work that gets shipped out to customers. So essentially I do not keep any inventory on hand. What I ended up doing was collecting all of the scanned images and printing those out and organizing them into a binder by category. Sheldon was so helpful and patient with all the printing we had to do. It is nice because now I have a physical portfolio of all the different creative I've been involved with through Sunflowers and Stitches!
