Spring Break Paintings

Just quickly sharing a few pieces that I was able to complete over my spring break. I had a lot of free time for crafting this last week, so stay tuned for some fun things I'll post about soon!

First of all on Sunday evening I painted this little painting inspired by the flower crown I made in my recent floral class. Pretty simple, but fun. Still deciding what to do with it, Maybe I'll add a quote or sell it on instagram stories. Still deciding.

The next thing was actually a commissioned piece. The painting is supposed to symbolize that the grandmother is now in Heaven with Christ. The chosen quote for this piece says: "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day."

It took me awhile to decide how to do it and took a few sketches to get it right. I needed it to be reverent and respectful of the content, but still stay true to my style of painting. I was skeptical of even taking this painting on, but so happy with the result. 

The next one I did was for the winner of my recent giveaway. She likes the band Cage the Elephant and wanted this type or painting with the lyrics "Even on a cloudy day, I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun." I really like how the colors bleed together on this one.

I also did a family portrait for a girl I know from my mission. She recently had a sweet little baby, so it was special to capture this little moment with paint. I love the simplicity of it.

This last one I did as a gift for my friend at home. She is a busy preschool teacher and thought this message would touch her heart.
